I was finally starting to feel that confidence that I had previously when I was at a healthier weight..

People previously knew me as the guy that was overweight and now, they were looking at me like I had just invented fire, I gotta say it was a good feeling!

I just had a friend stop by the house and he hasn't been over in a while and the first thing he said to me was "Man you been working out?!"

I am lucky to say that, I went from one of the lowest points of my life to the highest by coming up with this workout plan that you see now called 9 Minute Fitness. I know what it's like to be overweight, out of confidence, and feeling like shit overall.

Let me tell you a little bit more about myself.

Hi my name is Alan! I live in the hot desert (you may know it as Arizona)

Like many of you, I gotta work to pay the bills, but I also had other responsibilities too.

I have a father that has Autism that I have to look out for

He needs me to be there for him

So I couldn't be spending a half hour on the road (just to drive to the gym)

To spend another half hour or so there to get BS results.

The amount of time spent ( 30 min drive each way ) + another half hour in the gym equals a nearly 2 hour commitment that I didn't have..

So here I am in this situation, unhealthy, fat, out of confidence, probably worst shape I've ever been in..

But I couldn't do much about it with the traditional "gym scene"

I began brain storming ways out..

I knew if I wanted out of this mess, I had to be consistent & start working out where I could even if that meant the living room, my bedroom or the spare bedroom..

I immediately committed myself to getting fit.

I made an investment into my future health & purchased some dumbbells

It was probably one of the best purchases I ever made because those dumb bells are always near me now and I can always use them for a good workout whenever I feel like it..

Previously, it was hard to be healthy since I had to drive in the car, just 30 mins one way to go to an establishment and hope I find the dumbbells & everything I need..

Now things were feet away at a moments notice so it was just a matter of staying disciplined & commited to the goal.

You see if you stay consistent, most things are achievable!

The greatest athlete's of all time, Michael Jordan, Floyd Mayweather, etc etc they didn't get great overnight at Basketball or Boxing..

They dedicated themselves to their goal and they were consistent with actions ( practice, cardio, etc ) that's what made them the athlete's they are today.

I knew if I wanted to change my life it would take more than buying some dumbbells, it would take dedication & committment!

I stayed dedicated by motivating myself consistently

The key to this for me was setting a goal, working towards it & when I accomplished it, I gave myself a prize so I could further incentize myself to keep going.

Only this time instead of eating a big meal or something, I would think of another prize that was maybe healhier.

I said to myself "if I lost 20lb I would finally buy that new wallet that I've been looking at"

When I lost 20lb, I rewarded myself with that little purchase ( a nice little Gucci wallet )

I continue to keep my rewards around my room to remind myself that anything is possible with consistency & committment!

You see being able to set goals is one thing

Staying motivated enough to hit them is another thing

I studied what made people fail quite a bit..

It turns out, a lot of people ( myself included) start working out too hard when we're too overweight..

Working out too hard when you're too overweight can be a little rough at times. Your body will be sore, you'll be exhausted the next day, you might lack motivation to continue that..

When there's too much downside to an activitiy ( PAIN & being exhausted the next day ) not too many people keep up with that..

Instead I dediced, it might be better to focus on making smaller consistent changes over time

I realized, these smaller consistent changes in my daily routine are easier to handle & I am more likely to actually form a positive habit if I keep this up for a while..

And that's exactly what happened! I formed that positive habit of working out for about 9 minutes here & there!

I studied bodybuilders, personal trainers & everyone I could to figure out how I can achieve that perfect body at home!

They all had 1 thing in common.. They were consistent with their workouts. They wouldn't work out 5 days a week 1 week and only twice the next week, the routines were consistent.

Knowing I had to be consistent with the weights, I made it a priority to lift weights every single day, even if it was just for 9 minutes or so.

The results absolutely shocked a lot of people around me.

I now stand tall with confidence with my big broad shoulders. I feel good knowing I lift considerably more than the average male my own age.

Doing things around the house like home repairs has never been easier thanks to my new strength & health

Women notice me more than ever before as well, I honestly had to break up with a couple of girls there because I wasn't ready to settle down just quite yet
